About Voices 4 Loved Ones

Voices 4 Loved Ones was created from a deeply personal experience and a heartfelt commitment to safeguarding the dignity and well-being of loved ones in long-term care facilities.

My father lived in a long-term care facility in Ottawa, Ontario, until his passing in 2019. I vividly recall coming home to my husband, heartbroken after witnessing families, residents, and care staff struggling to navigate a system that felt so fundamentally broken.

During the pandemic, I made a pivotal decision to change my career path and step into the healthcare field. Since then, I have seen even more clearly how fractured our system is, and how urgently we need to ensure not only the highest quality care for our vulnerable populations but also family-centered support that empowers and includes loved ones in the process.

The idea for this business took shape after a friend reached out with concerns about the care her father was receiving in a memory care unit within a retirement home. After a long conversation, I visited the home with her, observed her father's situation, and advocated with the care staff to address her concerns and create meaningful changes. That experience sparked the creation of Voices 4 Loved Ones.

It became clear to me that I had a passion for this work and that there is a real need for someone who can advocate on behalf of families in care facilities. By stepping in with an objective perspective, free of emotional overwhelm, I can help families get answers, push for solutions, and drive change.
